Thirty years ago this week, Bosnian Serb troops entered the town of Srebrenica in eastern Bosnia. Western officials later claimed that the Bosnian Serb troops committed a massacre or even a genocide against thousands of Bosnian Muslim men and boys in Srebrenica.
In reality, no such massacre or genocide took place — the story was an atrocity propaganda psyop. However, between 1992 and 1995, Western-backed Bosnian Muslim fighters and foreign jihadists did in fact massacre about 1,500 Bosnian Serb civilians in the Srebrenica region — a largely ignored war crime that may well be described as the real Srebrenica genocide.
The Western “Srebrenica massacre” psyop — together with the Sarajevo “marketplace massacre” psyop one month later — enabled the first NATO military intervention in the history of the US-led alliance, and it provided a blueprint for subsequent US and NATO military interventions. NATO’s eastward expansion would eventually lead to the outbreak of the current war in Ukraine.
